Every new generation of Google Pixel phones comes packed with features and hardware that make them more helpful, powerful, and personal.

With Google Pixel 8 Pro and Google Pixel 8, built with the most advanced Tensor chip, you can create memories with the best Pixel Camera yet. And you can improve video memories with AI-powered features like Audio Magic Eraser to reduce distracting background sounds and Video Boost to improve the visuals, too.

“It’s the first phone built for the generative AI era,” says Rick Osterloh, Google’s senior vice president of devices and services.

What’s more, with your new Pixel 8, you’ll receive the latest OS and security updates for 7 years.1

There are many reasons to love the new Pixel phones, but here are four of our favorites:

1 Seven years of OS upgrades, security updates, and Feature Drops

Ongoing Pixel updates make your phone even better over time, and now, Google has expanded Pixel support to a full seven years of security updates, Android OS upgrades, Feature Drops, and AI innovations.1 That means your Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8 will be supported all the way into 2030. No major smartphone brand offers this committed level of support and longevity. And because they’ll be supported for seven years, these phones are a sustainable smartphone choice.

2 Audio Magic Eraser and Video Boost bring out the sounds and visuals you want while cutting the noise

You took a perfect video of your happily squealing kiddo in the park – or rather, almost perfect, because the howling wind in the background ruined the audio. Lucky for you, Audio Magic Eraser on Pixel makes it easy to reduce distracting sounds in your video,2 using advanced machine learning models to sort sounds into distinct layers so you can control their levels. The visuals are improved, too. In the December Feature Drop, Pixel 8 Pro will add Video Boost, giving you amazing video processing that automatically adjusts color, lighting, stabilization, and graininess.4

3 Google Assistant summarize and voice typing will speed up your reading and writing

If you don’t have the time to settle in with a long article, Google Assistant summarize will give you the highlights in a flash. Just tap “summarize,” and your Pixel will generate a quick overview for you. It can also write messages twice as fast with voice typing – or ask Google Assistant to read aloud and translate web pages for you so you can listen to articles on the go.3

The generative AI conversational tool Bard is coming to Google Assistant, combining personalized help with reasoning and generative capabilities. So it can hear, speak, see, and even take actions that help you out, like creating a grocery list for a weekend event with friends who all have different dietary needs – right on the device you always have with you.3 Just speak naturally: “Make me a grocery list for the weekend, for 10 people, go heavy on the snacks, and we’ll probably want a smoothie so recommend and include ingredients for that.”

Note: Assistant with Bard will roll out to select testers shortly, and availability will be expanded as an opt-in experience in the next few months.

Each new Pixel generation brings more features and more ways to be helpful, and updates keep improving the phone you have. That’s a lot to love.
