What is an instant trade-in credit and how does it work?
Instant Trade-In is available to select customers and allows you to receive your estimated trade-in credit immediately as a discount at checkout. You simply describe your device during purchase to get the instant credit. However, if you fail to send in your device within the required window, or if the device we receive does not match the description you provided, your original payment method will be charged for the difference in value.
Instant Trade-In is currently available to a limited subset of customers, and only for 1 trade-in per customer. If you are eligible, you will see the option applied automatically during the checkout process. If you do not see the option, you will proceed with the standard trade-in process where your credit is issued as a refund after we inspect your device. Note that transactions where the trade-in value is close to the purchase value of the new device are not eligible for instant trade-in credit.

What conditions would preclude my device from trade-in?
Please do not send your device if it has a damaged or swollen battery. If the inspection results show swelling or other physical damage to the battery, the device will not be eligible for credit and cannot be returned due to safety issues and local regulatory requirements.
Please note that phones reported lost or stolen, phones found to be counterfeit, phones that don’t power on/off, and phones that are not factory reset or have passcodes and locks when received will also not be accepted for trade-in, and may not be returned due to safety issues and local regulatory requirements.
