Which devices are eligible for Preferred Care?
How it works.
You can purchase a Preferred Care plan for your eligible device when you buy it from Google Store or through the check eligibility page after purchasing it from a retail partner. For more info about Preferred Care, go to the Help Center.
Enroll your eligible device.
For devices purchased from Google Store, add Preferred Care at checkout or enroll within 30 days of your purchase date under My Account.Your coverage period begins on the date you enroll in Preferred Care, or the date Google ships your device, whichever is later.
For devices purchased from retail partners, check eligibility and add Preferred Care coverage. Coverage period starts when your eligible device ships.

Figure out if your damage is covered.
Plans include accidental damage like drops, liquid spills, and cracks, plus mechanical or electrical breakdowns after the manufacturer’s warranty expires.
Make a claim online or over the phone.
File a claim within the timeframe indicated in your Preferred Care plan. If your claim is approved for a replacement, a new device will be shipped to you.

The Service Contract Provider is Federal Warranty Service Corporation in all states except in California where the Provider is Sureway, Inc.; in Florida where the Provider is United Service Protection, Inc., and in Oklahoma where the Provider is Assurant Service Protection, Inc. Please see sample Terms and Conditions for full details on Obligors, benefits, limitations and exclusions. For the Preferred Care upfront plan, there’s no limit to covered mechanical/electrical breakdown claims. If you purchased Preferred Care Monthly Coverage the claim limit for accidental damage coverage is up to two covered claims in a rolling 12- month period, beginning with the date of the first repair or replacement. If you purchased the Preferred Care 2-year coverage plan there is a claim limit of up to 2 accidental damage claims or 2 accidental damage claims in a rolling 12-month period based on the date of first repair or replacement based on device.

If your claim is approved, your replacement phone will be shipped with next business day service (excluding weekends).
