Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) and Nest Doorbell (battery) require the Google Home app and a free Google Account - they are not compatible with the Nest app or the home.nest.com site.

What is the difference between event-based history and continuous video history?
With event based video history, you can watch and save video clips of important activity that happened at your door. Both Nest Doorbells come with 3 hours of included event history or you can upgrade to a Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus subscription to extend this to up to 30 or 60 days, depending on your plan.

With continuous video history, you get everything that event based video offers, plus a video record of every moment between your recorded events. With a Nest Aware Plus subscription, you unlock continuous recording for up to 10 days on your Nest Doorbell (wired).

What is different about Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen)?
The second-generation wired Nest Doorbell uses on-device machine learning to tell the difference between people, packages, animals, and vehicles right out of the box and send intelligent alerts to your phone. It also lets you set up custom Activity Zones so you only get alerted about the things that matter – without the need for a Nest Aware subscription that our first-gen doorbell required. With the second-generation wired Nest Doorbell, you’ll also get three hours of video clips with 2 seconds of pre-roll footage, instead of image-only snapshots. And it can record up to an hour’s worth of events even if the Wi-Fi goes out, so you never miss a moment. Finally, while the first-gen doorbell was only available in black, the second-gen Nest Doorbell comes in four colors to complement any home.
