Sharing photos and videos with others brings us closer.

The latest Pixel Drop introduces a Quick Share update, first available on Pixel 10 phones, for Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. It makes sharing with your friends’ Apple® devices easier than ever.

Finally, an easy way to share with everyone

We’ve all been there: You capture the perfect group photo on your Pixel, and your friend with an iPhone® asks for it. When it comes to sharing moments, what kind of device you have shouldn’t matter – sharing should just work. And now that Quick Share works with AirDrop®, it does.

With this new update, you can quickly and securely share photos, videos, and files between Pixel phones and iOS,® iPadOS,® and macOS® devices without an internet connection.

Getting started

First, make sure your Pixel phone is up to date. Then open the Settings app and search for Quick Share. Under Who can share with you, choose Contacts to share with people listed in your Contacts app, or Everyone for 10 minutes, which automatically reverts to your previous selection to protect your privacy.

When you’re ready to send a file to a compatible iPhone,® iPad,® or Mac,® ask the recipient to set their AirDrop® visibility to Everyone for 10 minutes. Then open the content on your Pixel, tap Quick Share, and select their device from the list. To receive a file, make sure your Pixel is set to Everyone for 10 minutes so the sender can find you.

Secure by design

You can share across devices with confidence knowing we built this feature with security at its core. An independent security assessment by NetSPI, a leading penetration testing firm, found that connections between Quick Share and AirDrop® are secure and do not leak any information. Transfers require your approval, so you’re in control of what you receive. And a direct peer-to-peer connection means your data is never routed through a server, no extra data is shared, and shared content is never logged.

Great content shouldn’t be trapped by an operating system. With Quick Share in the new Pixel Drop, moving data between Android and iOS® is simple.
