How do I purchase installation with my Google Nest products?
Pro* installation through our partners is available in the US for all Nest products when purchased together from the Google Store at store.google.com.
Who does Google work with to deliver Pro* installation?
Google has partnered with Handy and OnTech to deliver Pro* installation services.
Who is Handy?
Google has partnered with Handy to easily connect Google Store customers to pre-screened professional installation partners. For more information, read Handy’s Terms of Service.
Who is OnTech?
Google has partnered with OnTech to provide professional, hassle-free smart-home installation services through its nationwide network of trained, trusted and insured in-home technicians. Visit OnTech for more information.
How do I schedule a Pro* installation?
If you purchase Pro* installation with a device on Google Store, you can schedule your appointment after you complete the purchase. Or, you can schedule at a later time by going to your Order History page.

If you already have a Nest device and are looking for installation only, you can book a pro directly through Google’s installation partner, OnTech, with same and next-day appointments nationwide.
How much will my Pro* installation service cost?
If you add installation services during checkout on the Google Store, pricing starts at $99. If you already have a device and want to book directly with a Pro* installer, pricing may vary.
Do you offer discounts on multiple installations?
You’ll pay less for any additional Pro* installation services for select devices booked together in the same order. Discounts vary by product.
How long will my Pro* installation take?
Installation time will vary based on the type and number of products. We recommend planning for at least two hours for your installation.
Preparing for installation from our Pro* installation partners:
Please ensure that you have an adult over 18 years of age at home for the duration of your installation from our Pro* installation partners. We’d also ask that you have a compatible mobile device for device setup, and have a working Wi-Fi network with your password ready.
What if I want to reschedule or cancel my installation after purchase?
You can reschedule installation services from our Pro* installation partners for free up to 24 hours before the start time of your scheduled booking. The following fees may apply when bookings are cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the booking start time.

- If you cancel more than 24 hours before your appointment, you’ll get a full refund.
- If you cancel between 24 and 2 hours before, you’ll get a refund minus a $15 cancellation fee.
- If you cancel less than 2 hours before, there will be no refund.

What’s included in my Pro* installation?
Nest Thermostat/Nest Learning Thermostat
- Removal of your existing thermostat
- Installation and pairing of the Nest thermostat on a standard, compatible HVAC system. You can check compatibility of your HVAC system here
- A test to ensure that the thermostat is correctly installed and functioning properly
- An introduction to the thermostat and the Nest app, and a demonstration of how they work
Nest Protect
- Removal of your old smoke alarm (if you have one)
- Installation and pairing of your Nest Protect (Wired or Wireless)
- A test to ensure that the Nest Protect is correctly installed and functioning properly
- An introduction to the Nest Protect and Nest app, and a demonstration of how they work

What’s not included?
- Nest Protect (Wired) installation assumes the use of existing wiring and does not include running new wiring
Nest x Yale Lock
- Removal of your existing lock
- Drilling a deadbolt hole if one doesn’t exist or if your current hole isn’t large enough
- Installation and pairing of the Nest x Yale lock
- A test to check that the lock is aligned and operates properly

- Assessment of the best location for your Nest camera
- Installation and setup of your Nest camera in either a battery or wired configuration
- A test to check that the Nest camera is correctly installed and the video streaming is working correctly
- An introduction to the Nest camera and the Google Home app, and a demonstration of how they work
- Note: If an outdoor wired installation is preferred, then you are responsible for purchasing a Nest weatherproof cable accessory before your installer arrives. There must be an existing accessible outlet within 5-10 meters of the installation location.
