Design your smart home your way, in minutes.

Having a smart home is all about making your daily life run more smoothly. And that’s where the newest Google Home updates come in. Within minutes, your app can be customized the way you want it, and your smart home devices will be working in sync with your life.1

Your smart home, on your terms

From thermostats to cameras and doorbells, and even your home’s Wi-Fi, control it all with the Google Home app.1 And now, you can add even more of these everyday essentials to your Google Home app Favorites tab for quicker access.

Share your Wi-Fi password with one tap, run a speed test before your next video call, or pin a camera feed to the top of your app so you can keep an eye on your bird feeder while you’re away.1,2

The more your home is connected, the more helpful Favorites becomes. Now you can shape it around what you use most, without digging through menus.

Make every screen its own hub

You can access your smart home from almost any kind of device, from watch to smartphone to TV. You might want your smart home control panel to look and work a little differently depending on which device you’re using. With that in mind, Google Home will soon be device aware. With Tailored Favorites, the Google Home app will let you customize the Favorites tab separately on your phone, watch, tablet, or TV.1,3

Pin your thermostat to your watch so you can adjust it mid-workout when you really start to sweat.2 Set up a camera-focused view on your living room TV so you can keep an eye on your sleeping baby while you relax on the couch.1,2 Keep home-monitoring favorites front and center on the smartphone that’s always with you, but default to media controls on the tablet you keep in the living room.2 Coming soon, each device will become its own customized hub, tuned to how you use it.

Get started in the Google Home app

Take advantage of the Google Home updates by opening the Google Home app and heading to the Favorites tab to start organizing your space. Add a few new tiles, and set up each device just the way you want it. It only takes a few minutes, and it can make your smart home devices feel a lot smarter.
