Gemini Live can now talk you through the images, files, and videos you see on Pixel. Simply add an image from your camera or gallery, and Gemini Live will analyze it and answer questions about it. Watch a YouTube video, then have a conversation about it with Gemini Live. Whether you need advice on styling an event based on the venue, or help doubling a recipe, Gemini Live serves as your personal AI assistant.^1,2

New things to talk about with Gemini Live^1,2:

• Images: Add an image to your conversation and Gemini Live can provide detailed information and suggestions, or help solve problems in real time.

• Files: Share documents with Gemini Live, then have a discussion about them.

• Videos: Have a conversation about a YouTube video, including insights, explanations, and reasoning.

All this will be available on Pixel 9 series phones, and come to Pixel 6 and later phones soon. In the coming months, the Gemini app on Pixel will be among the first to get Project Astra capabilities like screen sharing and live video streaming.⁴

With extensions, Gemini can help you complete tasks across apps like YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, and Spotify. And now you can ask Gemini to use multiple extensions in a single prompt.⁵ For example, you can ask Gemini for some high-protein lunch recipes and then easily save them to a note directly on Google Keep, or ask Gemini for nearby activities and text them to a friend with Google Messages.

The new Gemini Deep Research feature – available to Gemini Advanced subscribers – transforms your Pixel into a powerful research assistant. It helps you browse through up to hundreds of websites to generate a report with key findings, organized with links to original sources so you can learn even more. That’s hours of research at your fingertips in just minutes – perfect for students, professionals, or anyone seeking to dive deeper into any topic.³

Gemini Deep Research will start becoming available to Gemini Advanced subscribers on Pixel phones in the next few days. Pixel 9 Pro owners can enjoy Deep Research with the 12-month subscription to Gemini Advanced included with their purchase.⁶

Google is also improving Circle to Search with AI Overviews. Now when you circle, highlight, or tap on your screen, you’ll start seeing more AI Overviews for places, trending images, unique objects, and more.⁷ 

AI Overviews use generative AI to provide a snapshot of helpful information about your search with links to dig deeper and learn more from the web. It’s like having a knowledgeable friend explaining exactly what you need to know about what you see on your phone.

Circle to Search is also making it easier to take action on your pictures and screenshots by recognizing phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs. Simply tap to start a call, compose an email, or open the website.
