Getting started is easy and only takes a few taps. First, make sure your Pixel is updated to Android 17.¹ Then swipe down to open your Quick Settings menu and select the screen record option. Since screen reactions only work when you are capturing your entire display, make sure your recording is set to the entire screen instead of a single app.¹ Finally, select the “Selfie + audio” mode to turn on your front-facing camera and microphone.

Once your recording begins, you can scroll, play, and interact with your apps just like you normally would. A small video feed of your face will appear on the display, and you can easily tap, drag, and resize it so it doesn’t block anything important. Keep in mind that front camera zooming is not supported in this mode. When you’re done, your one-take video is saved and ready for you to share directly to social media or send to friends.
