With more video history, event descriptions with push notifications, you can always stay informed about important events at your home and get more peace of mind. Google Home Premium features vary depending on which camera, doorbell, speaker, or display you have.
If you are still paying for a 1st gen Nest Aware subscription per camera, it’s easy to switch to a plan that covers all the Google Nest devices in your home for one price.
Yes. You can receive a 30-day Google Home Premium trial if you register a new household.

Google Home Premium allows you to add extra video history beyond the still images or video clips that may be captured by your Nest camera or doorbell when it detects motion, sound, or other key events. Event video history allows you to go back in time and review video clips of important events. 24/7 video history allows you to capture every second with continuous recording, so you can scan through your video history to see everything before, during, and after an event.

Both Google Home Premium plans allow you to quickly scan through days of video history in seconds. Choose from two simple plans: The Standard plan comes with 30 days of event video history, and the Advanced plan comes with 60 days of event video history and 10 days of 24/7 video history.

Google Home Premium features and alerts vary by device and country.

Google Home Premium works with all Google Nest cameras, doorbells, speakers and displays. Features and functionality vary by product and country.

In addition to a compatible Nest product, you’ll need a Google Account to use Google Home Premium. If you have a Nest Account, you may need to migrate to a Google Account to receive the full benefits of Google Home Premium.

Your home needs to be in a country that supports Google Home Premium.

Google Home Premium requires a working internet connection for your home and the Google Home app.

Event video history clips are captured by your Nest camera or doorbell when it detects important sound or motion events. The duration of the clip will vary depending on the activity captured.
Depending on your country and product, Google Home Premium subscribers can access their device settings and video recordings in either the website or Google Home app.
You should start to see these changes take effect after your Google Home Premium order is processed. The Advanced plan comes with 10 days of 24/7 video history, which applies to video footage captured after the order is processed and while you have an active subscription. 24/7 video history begins when you officially subscribe to the Advanced plan and does not retroactively go back to the beginning of the trial.
To make changes to your existing plan or cancel your subscription, follow the steps in our Manage your subscriptions help center article. To update your payment method used for Google Home Premium, follow the steps under the Change your payment method section in our Manage your subscriptions help center article.
If you cancel Google Home Premium, you’ll have service until the billing cycle ends. Be sure to save any important video or sound detection clips before you cancel your subscription.
To change between monthly and annual billing in your Google Home Premium subscription, you will need to stop auto renewal on your current subscription, wait until the billing cycle is over, and then resubscribe to Google Home Premium with your preferred billing frequency.

Google Nest cameras and doorbell lights let you know whether your camera is working normally or if there’s a problem. You are always in control of your devices and settings. At any time, you can delete your Nest Cam video history from Settings in the Nest app, and delete your sound detection history in the Home app.
Starting October 28, 2025, some US users with compatible speakers and displays will get early access. We are gradually rolling out access, with the goal for it to be available in all supported markets by early 2026.
