All Google items, such as Pixel phones or Fitbit devices, come with a one-year warranty. The Preferred Care plans provide out-of-warranty mechanical breakdown coverage, accidental damage and failure to locate. Preferred Care is available to be purchased as a monthly plan.
What is the coverage and benefit of the programme?
Preferred Care provides repair and replacement for accidental damage, such as drops, liquid spills, cracks, and mechanical or electrical failure, for as long as the device is enrolled. There is a claim limit of two accidental damage claims per rolling 12-month period, beginning with the date of first repair or replacement. Both plans can be cancelled at any time. Financed phones are eligible for both plans, using the same payment method. For more details, please see the Preferred Care Terms and Conditions.
How does failure to locate work?
If your device cannot be located, we've got you covered with a replacement for your eligible device so that you can reconnect quickly. We'll send you a replacement upon approval as soon as the next business day, saving you time and money.
What are the differences between paying up front and paying monthly?
The Preferred Care plans provide coverage for out-of-warranty mechanical breakdown and accidental damage. For both plans, during their coverage terms, there is no limit for mechanical breakdowns or electrical fault claims after Google's warranty expires. The Preferred Care monthly coverage plan renews automatically every month up to 60 months. With the Preferred Care two-year plan, you pay once up front for 24 months of coverage.

The service contract provider is Federal Warranty Service Corporation in all states except in California where the provider is Sureway, Inc., in Florida where the provider is United Service Protection, Inc. and in Oklahoma where the provider is Assurant Service Protection, Inc. If you purchased Preferred Care Monthly Coverage the claim limit for accidental damage coverage is up to two covered claims in a rolling 12-month period, beginning with the date of the first repair or replacement.
