These features will roll out over the next few weeks, starting today.

Google Pixel with Gemini: Your AI assistant gets more versatile

Gemini Live
can help you with things you see in real life. Simply attach an image from your camera or gallery, and Gemini Live can help analyse it and answer questions about it. Watch a YouTube video, then have a conversation about it with Gemini Live. Whether you need advice on styling an event based on the venue, or help doubling a recipe, Gemini Live serves as your personal AI assistant (features available on Google Pixel 9 series phones, and other compatible Android devices).

New things to talk about with Gemini Live:

  • Images: Add an image to your conversation and Gemini Live can provide detailed information and suggestions, or help solve problems in real time.

  • Files: Share documents with Gemini Live, then have a discussion about them.

All this is available on

Pixel 9 series phones
. And later this year, the Gemini app on Pixel will be among the first to get
Project Astra
capabilities like screen sharing and live video streaming.

Gemini Deep Research on Pixel: Turbocharge the search in research

The new Gemini Deep Research feature – which will become available to Gemini Advanced subscribers in the next few days – transforms your Pixel into a powerful research assistant. It helps you browse through up to hundreds of websites to generate a report with key findings, organised with links to original sources so you can learn even more. That’s hours of research at your fingertips in just minutes – perfect for students, professionals, or anyone seeking to dive deeper into any topic.

Gemini Deep Research will start becoming available to Gemini Advanced subscribers on Pixel phones in February 2025. Plus, eligible users who purchase a Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL or Pixel 9 Pro Fold by 31 October 2025  will be able to enjoy Deep Research as part of the 12-month Gemini Advanced subscription included with their purchase (exclusions apply).

Circle to Search with AI Overviews

Google is also improving

Circle to Search
with AI Overviews. Now, when you circle, highlight, or tap on your screen, you’ll start seeing more AI Overviews for places, trending images, unique objects, and more.

AI Overviews use generative AI to provide a snapshot of helpful information about your search with links to dig deeper and learn more from the web. It’s like having a knowledgeable friend explaining exactly what you need to know about what you see.

Quickly get the info you need with AI Overviews, then get right back to what you’re doing.
