Feel closer to the Lionesses this summer with Google Pixel
Even before the first kick-off in this summer’s international tournament, Google Pixel is celebrating our mighty Lionesses – and bringing the fans closer than ever to the England team. We’ve channelled the rising energy and excitement around women’s football into a new film.
Google Pixel ambassador, Alessia Russo alongside Jess Carter, Ella Toone and Chloe Kelly all play starring roles, alongside passionate fans and a pumping soundtrack that could very well be the song of the summer. Not only does this film highlight our proud partnership with the England teams, it also features a tribute to Mary Earps, ‘Queen of Stops’, who has now retired from international football.
We are also partnering with British Vogue to launch their first-ever Sports Desk, a new editorial space dedicated to the stories, style and cultural impact of women’s sport in the UK and beyond.
Through our partnership with England Teams, we have brought together an exclusive line-up of talent to mark the launch. Presenter AJ Odudu and football legend Rio Ferdinand met Head Coach Sarina Wiegman and players Alessia Russo, Missy Bo Kearns, Alex Greenwood and Hannah Hampton, to discuss passions that fuel fandom and why the Lionesses have captured hearts on and off, the pitch.
With a series of social videos, content, articles and a viewing event at Wembley, British Vogue and Google Pixel are delivering high quality football content championing the women’s game.
Pixel FC, Google’s collective of women’s football content creators and presenters, will also be on the ground in Switzerland this summer to continue inspiring change. They’ll be sharing passion and excitement straight from the heart of the action.
Awareness for women’s football is growing all the time, but we know there is still work to be done. By bringing fans closer to the Lionesses and providing exclusive behind-the-scenes access, Google Pixel is there for it all.
