Switching to Google Pixel from iPhone® is a snap.
You can keep texting, video chatting, and sharing without interruption.

When you switch to Google Pixel, you’ll get a pro-level camera and handy messaging features.

Plus, eureka: Android and iPhone users can text together much more smoothly thanks to Apple’s adoption of the RCS messaging standard.1 Your new phone boasts features custom-built by Google. Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro give you all-day battery life2 and a stunning camera system, so you can photograph the moments that matter without worrying about your phone dying. And if any of those images aren’t just as you want them to be, Pixel’s editing features will sharpen and brighten picture-imperfect photos – even ones taken with an iPhone. You can also reduce unwanted phone calls with Pixel’s Call Screen, which uses Google’s AI to screen incoming calls and decline them automatically if they turn out to be spam.3

Switch to Pixel without worry

Pixel makes switching easy by transferring all your important data in just a few quick steps. It takes only about 30 minutes, and you’ll be able to pick up where you left off, with your photos, messages, and favorite apps transferred to your new phone.5 And you’ll still have access to all the ways you already connect with friends and loved ones – including FaceTime® video calls and iMessage reactions.

Safely transfer all your important data, including photos, videos, contacts, iMessages, texts, WhatsApp messages, apps, notes, call history, and more.

Have questions about switching? Here are some common ones.

Is it easy to switch from Apple to Pixel?

Switching to Pixel is easier than ever. All you have to do is connect your old iPhone with your new Pixel, and follow the prompts on the screen. In about 30 minutes, your selected data – like contacts, photos, and messages – will copy to your new Pixel.

Will it be harder to communicate with people who still use iPhone?

Worried about a world without high-quality images, read receipts, or typing indicators? A new era of texting has begun now that Apple has adopted Rich Communication Services (RCS),1 the industry text messaging standard. As long as your iPhone-using friends and family have kept iOS up to date and keep RCS switched on, you’ll be able to emoji-react to texts, name your group chats, and send and receive sharp photos and videos – just as if you’re all on the same operating system. Here’s to blue and green being friends.

What data can be copied from my iPhone to Pixel?

When you set up your Pixel, you can safely transfer over all your important data, including photos, videos, contacts, iMessages, texts, WhatsApp messages, apps, notes, call history, and more.5 After initial setup, you can copy other photos and videos you have stored in iCloud to Google Photos.

Will I have to repurchase my apps or subscriptions?

Most apps automatically copy over when you switch to Pixel. If you have subscription services (like Spotify or Apple Music), just sign in to your account on your Pixel and you’ll see all your data in that app. And if you paid for apps or games, app developers can help you transfer them to your new phone.

What will I do without my favorite iOS apps?

Pixel has comparable equivalents to your favorite iOS apps. Instead of iMessage, Pixel has the Messages app. Pixel also has an alternative to AirDrop® called Nearby Share, so you can keep sharing files with friends near you.

What about video calls? Does FaceTime® work?

Pixel users can easily make video calls through Google Meet, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and many other communication apps. You can also join FaceTime calls from your Pixel if someone sends you a link.

Can I still share my location with friends and family, and see their locations?

With Pixel, you can share locations with family and friends using Google Maps, which you may already use. With Location Sharing, you can choose who gets to see your location and how long to share it with them.

What should I do before switching from iPhone to Google Pixel?

Switching is a great time to do a bit of spring cleaning – you can use this opportunity to review old photos or clean up your contacts. Everything else comes in the box with your new Pixel. All you need is the SIM card from your old phone.

You won’t skip a beat when you switch to Pixel, whether you’re on iPhone or Android. Find out more here.

A little help finding a helpful gift.
  1. Availability of RCS varies by region and carrier.

  2. For “over 24 hours”: Estimated battery life based on testing using a median Pixel user battery usage profile across a mix of talk, data, standby, and use of other features. Average battery life during testing was at least 31 hours. For “Up to 72 hours”: Estimated battery life based on testing using a median Pixel user battery usage profile across a mix of talk, data, standby, and use of limited other features that are default in Extreme Battery Saver mode (which disables various features including 5G connectivity). For both claims: Battery testing conducted on a major US carrier network in California in early 2024 on pre-production hardware and software using default settings, except that, for the “up to 72 hours” claim only, Extreme Battery Saver mode was enabled. Tests began with phones fully charged. Battery life depends upon many factors and usage of certain features will decrease battery life. Actual battery life may be lower.

  3. Available only in English in the US. See g.co/pixel/callassist for details. Call Screen may not detect all robocalls and spam calls.

  4. Not available on VOIP calls. Call quality depends on environment, carrier network conditions, and many other factors. Actual results may vary.

  5. Some third-party apps and data may not be transferred automatically. Visit g.co/pixel/copydatahelp for information.
