Voor Chromecast met Google TV heb je het volgende nodig: een tv met een HDMI-poort, een wifi-netwerk, een werkende internetverbinding, een Google-account, een stopcontact in de buurt en een geschikt mobiel apparaat. Informatie over minimale OS-vereisten vind je op g.co/cast/req. Als je content wilt bekijken in 4K, heb je ook een tv nodig die geschikt is voor 4K en een betrouwbare breedbandinternetverbinding. De beschikbaarheid van 4K-programma's hangt van de inhoudaanbieders af. De beschikbaarheid en prestaties van functies en services zijn app-, apparaat- en netwerkafhankelijk.
